Territorio

El municipio de Los Alcázares. se encuentra situado en el centro de la llanura que bordea el Mar Menor, a 49 Km de Murcia. El último municipio de la región te ofrece 7 kilómetros de litoral y un territorio de 20,3 Km2 . Aquí dejaron huella otras culturas, ejemplo de ello son los árabes que eligieron este enclave para renovarse en las antiguas termas romanas que existían aquí por las excelentes propiedades terapéuticas de sus aguas. En cuanto al clima, aquí el invierno es sólo un nombre en el calendario. El sol no se marcha nunca, con una temperatura media anual de 18º C.

Estamos cerca de todo. A 5 Km se encuentra el aeropuerto de San javier, con conexiones nacionales e internacionale. El aeropuerto de El Altet dista sólo 75 Km y conecta con las principales ciudades euopeas y españolas.

La estación del ferrocarril Balsicas.Mar Menor, a unos 12 Km, cuenta con líneas que enlazan con Madrid, Valencia y Barcelona.
Hay diferentes líneas de autobuses que conectan este municipio con las principales ciudades y núcleos turísticos de la Región, así como líneas directas a Madrid, Barcelona, Albacete, Bilbao, Luxemburgo, Bélgica y Holanda.

Por carretera, la autovía del Mar Menor nos une a la red de carreteras nacionales y a la autopista del Mediterráneo , la puerta hacia Europa. La Naturaleza tambien es protagonista en Los Alcázares., por eso tiene un bosque de islas verdes repartidas por todo el municipio. Sus aguas tranquilas te permiten iniciarte en deportes como la vela o el piragüismo. O si lo prefieres, sumergirte en otro paisaje descendiendo al fondo marino en una excursión de buceo; hay mucha vida que ver bajo la superficie.

El Mar menor es el mayor balneario a cielo abierto que pueda existir; la composición química de sus aguas las convierte en medicinales. La alta concentración de sales y yodos, la ausencia de olas, la poca profundidad de sus aguas (7 metros en el punto máximo), y su excepcional temperatura de verano y de invierno, son terapia para el cuerpo. Los tratamientos termales con esta agua salina y la aplicación de lodos eliminan las partículas tóxicas,activan el sistema sanguíneo y relajan los músculos. Las playas ofrecen su mejor cara, limpias, provistas de lavapiés,fuentes,accesos para discapacitados y juegos deportivos.
Embarcándote en un paseo por mar puedes explorar las islas que contemplas desde la orilla. Pasa un día en la isla perdiguera, enclavada en el centro del Mar Menor, y báñate en sus aguas transparentes.



Población


Los Alcázares. se ha convertido hoy en el municipio de la región de Murcia en el que conviven mayor número de nacionalidades, concretamente residentes que proceden de 90 países distintos.

Con una población que ya supera los 15.000 habitantes y que en verano asciende a 100.000 personas , Los Alcázares. es el municipio más joven de la región de Murcia. 8.243 hombres y 7.210 mujeres conviven en Los Alcázares. según los últimos datos registrados por el departamento de Estadística del ayuntamiento.
Como muestra la pirámide, en Los Alcázares. se concentra un importante núcleo de población de edades comprendidas entre los 25 y 40 años, que abarca a cerca de un tercio del total de la población, situada en 15.453 habitantes.

Finalmente se obseva cómo a medida que avanzan las edades, el número de hombres y mujeres se va igualando, llegando a ser superior el número de mujeres a partir de los 80 años.
