The manual review of an analysis allows to validate the issues found. Although the validation must be limited to manual issues, the tool allows also to modify the validity of the automatic issues. Once the analysis is finished, the person who is performing the evaluation must review the manual issues detected by the tool and indicate whether those issues meet the checkpoint or not.
The issue validity level, is part of one of the following categories:
Pass,
Fail,
Not tested,
Can not tell,
Not applicable.

The validity level can be modified in relation to the checkpoint, the check and the issue. If the validity level of a check is modified, the status of all its issues will be modified. On the other hand, if the checkpoint level is modified, all its checks and therefore, the issues associated to these checks, will be modified.
To modify the validity level, once the element to validate is selected, you have to go to Checkpoint menu, Validity level submenu, or directly to Validity level located at the contextual menu associated.
The modification has influence on the result as follow:

TAW also allows to add a comment to provide more information on the modification status through the Checkpoint annotation option, accessible from the Validity level submenu or through the Checklist of checkpoints option. The comment is always added to the checkpoint level, independently of the place from where it is being accessed (checkpoint or issue).
The annotation window shows the checkpoint for which the annotation will be done. There is a selection component to modify the validity level and a button to access the visual checking. Just below, a text box is available to introduce the annotation. The changes can be saved by clicking the OK button, or cancelled by clicking the Cancel button.
